I recently had surgery to reconstruct my left foot. I was born with flat feet, which isn’t uncommon, but this one looked like a pancake. Over the years it had gotten worse and the pain on my big toe was starting to impact how I was walking. Unfortunately, fixing it required major foot reconstruction surgery. The surgeon compared it to gutting a house and renovating it completely. On the other hand, the doctor said it was just going to get worse. It’s been a week since my surgery and I still have about 6 more before I can even walk in a boot. It’s about as fun as you can imagine. What does this have to do with Drake, you ask?
Drake dropped the God’s Plan video last week which happened to be a few days after my surgery. The song was already on repeat since it dropped last month but the video took it to another level. I don’t know if it was the pain killers or the fact that I was in the lonely hearts club for Valentine’s Day but it was just what I needed. Take a look and tell me this video doesn’t make you grateful for what you have…and maybe even shed a little tear. Don’t get it twisted, it’s a bitch to not be able to walk and have to rely on people just to make coffee, but I know it’s all a part of God’s Plan. I have nothing but time these days and well, that’s why I’m starting to blog again.
